This is joyful!

Eric is one year older than Eddie. But, Eric's music career started before Eddie's. Eric's career began in 1969, Eddie's began in 1972. Who knows? ...Maybe Eric influenced Eddie.
Eddie is quoted as saying he was influenced by the other Eric, but, incredibly if you listen to his playing, not Jimi.

Great tune. I would have this cranked if it wasn't so late (and I'd wake the neighbors)

He must have been an influence on Eddie van Halen. Assuming he is older!

Bill please play more instrumentals like this. Satriani, Vai, Morse and Johnson.

It sounds like he is having fun playing this song! Chair dancing time!
Wow haven't heard this song since playing Guitar Hero 3 on my xbox many years ago, what a great song! (and hard to play :D)
EXCELLENT! I never heard of him before. Thank You RP!

I was a freshman in the college dorm in 1990, my roommate that the college put me with was a guitar player, and he introduced me to this album. And we listened to it over an over. Great friendship started over this album, and 31 years later, it continues.
This track is really good fun. I’m not sure my I feel this way, but I do!

Just because you can play it that fast doesn't mean you have to. Just hellish.

I look forward to the day when RP can indulge us in more instrumental pieces throughout the day. There are many artists to choose from. Mainstream groups like Split Enz, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Genesis, Simple Minds, The Who, and Roxy Music have all done instrumentals. Maybe start with instrumental versions of the classics. Heard of Devo’s E-Z Listening Disc for example? Here are just a few of the Steves making great instrumentals: Steve Morse, Steve Coolidge, Steve Hackett, Steve Howe, Steve Vai, and Steve Hillage, etc..
How have I never heard this tune, or this artist before? More, please!
Holy Christ, that bass line is INSANE.
Guitarist is not bad too.

Go on... give everyone a taste of Eric Johnson. IMHO one of the best guitarists of all time.

Wow! Eric Johnson on RP--what a concept! I presume that this was recently uploaded/added/whatever.
And I once scoffed at someone who commented on a song before it had ever been played here. Ah, the bravado of naivete.
This is EJ's most popular song, and as is hardly ever the case, some of his best work. No virtuoso wanking, here, and you'd never know that the guy can tell what brand of 9v battery is in any of his pedals--and how much juice is left--just by listening.
I love Eric Johnson. Like his live stuff most. Austin City Limits disc and DVD are wonderful, as is Alien Love God. If you like Hendrix and SRV, check out Eric. Under appreciated...
