One two, one two

Oh my lover, I'm in the sea
Nothing gonna change for you and me
Done our best but I'm on fire
Never gonna change me down the line

We were safe, now we are sorry
No, don't live life in a hurry
Tried my best to make you see
The dawn gonna break on you and me

Oh my lover, can't keep running
Time will need and time forgotten
Time will stop, time will start
Send an arrow through your heart

We were safe now, we are sorry
Coming back for me in a hurry
I licked it while I let it hurt
And now I don't know what is worse

Guide me over
To the wings of the sea
Try to bath me

Die in the surf, die in the sorrow
It'll all work out tomorrow
Tried my best to make you see
Something ain't right for you and me

Oh my baby, be my rudder
Time will make you cold and shudder
Which is worse, catch you up
Time gonna bring you an empty cup

I was safe now, I am sorry
All this mess and all this worry
Forget the rest and draw the line
Just don't know now which is fine

I was safe now, I am sorry
Oh, don't live life in a hurry
Draw a line, forget the rest
Now I know that love is best

I've always loved Karl's voice.
The last Goan World Party suffered from a severe lack of interesting guests!

PS

Now "it's" in Brasil, but you have to pay me money to tell you where exactly!

North is true, though!

this would be .BUBBLEGUM, in my world. not a horrable thing, just not bought. not quite r&b, not quite real,  just not quite. ....also other than the background singers who save it,  the rest sounds like a machine.

Oh god, World Party. What crappy music, no matter what song of theirs is on.

We'll just have to forgive you, since you were only 2 years old when Ship of Fools was released. We all have to grow up sometime.

There is just something about Karl Wallinger music. Maybe it's one of those 'you get it or you don't' things. As for me, I get it.

Instantly identifiable—inevitably lovely.
Karl displays such a mastery of space and brevity in his production...
I liked this immediately and enjoyed seeing that it was by World Party — a band I hadn't heard anything from in a long time! Thanks RP! {#Sunny}

Oh yeah.

Put the message in the box,
Put the box into the car,
Drive the car around the woo-rrllld
Until you get heard

I'm sorry, I can't help myself... it's the first thing that comes to mind with World Party

Really?  Ouch.

Isn't it "Zoiks!"?
Actually, it's "zoinks." But Shaggy was the one who said "zoinks," so "Zoinks, Shaggy!" means he's talking to himself.

Yep, zoiks. And that about sums up the worth of the previous post.

Zikes shaggy, this is a boring song. It makes me wish I had a bone to chew on or masked villian to catch; otherwise I may need to whack my head on a tree.

Interesting. I like the counterpoint. You don't get that in pop music much.

This song together with your very special one in your arms... My god, even as an "old" prog rocker, I am melting here...

I did have to listen to the first few lines to see if it was World Party covering "For My Lover"(?) by Tracy Chapman. The melody is similar in spots.

Tell it, brother! Same here. World Party's "Goodbye Jumbo" and "Bang" are enough for me to put them on my all-time fave list
I am really enjoying Dumbing Up...REALLY
Yessss! More WP!

World Party is great. This is not one of my favorites by them, but I still give it an 8.

Is carl Wahlberg any relation to Karl Wallinger, the actual leader of World Party? Just kidding of course. When was that show in Philly? Farquwaar wrote:
Actually Dumbing Up was released in the states this year. One of the reason it was not released is Carl Wahlberg had a brain anuryism and could not tour in support. He's all better now and did a nice gig at the Jam on the River here in Philly. A great song writer and an album worthy fo RP play.
Always good to hear Karl. Haven't heard the album, but there has to be some golden moments in there somewhere.

This album was a massive dud. Probably the reason there was no US release for Dumbing Up.

Beautiful song! Great addition, whoever is responsible, thanks! :)
