As anyone who lives in Hawai’i knows, this is the tune the local news plays at the end of every broadcast,  showing local people from all over the island, showing off their best Shaka. 😁🤙

🤣 thanks for that one. I spent my freshman year of high school on the Big Island in the late 70’s…the photo says it all.

Pretty tame, as slack key goes.  Why add bass and drums to slack key?  To make it more appealing?  I don't get it.  For comparison, check out Keola Beamer's "Blue Water Dolphin Song" -- same composer, far better composition.

I saw him play and met him in person after the concert probably about ten years ago at Villa Montalvo in Saratoga, CA.  Very nice man.  If you are a fan of slack key guitar you already know who he is.  If you're not, you should be!
