Well he WAS PIL's bassist... listen for his contributions on the 1st two albums.

No comparison there garrettb. Sinead has the voice of an angel. I can't stand McDonald's vocals. He ruined the Doobie's

The one and only!  What a unique voice she had. I love everything she recorded. RIP Sinead. Jah is playing a very catchy bass line in this one.
Most talented London Underground driver working today. Crazy to think he could be driving you any time you get on-board
I enjoy how the vocals play off each other all the while this stellar groove sweeps me away.  Great song.
Dieser Song war 1991 absolut auf der Höhe seiner Zeit. Grossartig.
love love the bass
How very sad that we'll never get to discover new collaborations featuring Sinead...I'm going to miss those discoveries...
There is Only ONE TUNE by him on the RP playlist. PLEASE ADD MORE! Thank You.
Is that Sinead in the background?
What a voice. RIP Sinead
EXCELLENT!! First time I ever heard of him! That is why we come here.  Thanx RP!
Lyrics:

I'm not numbed that anymore
Not longer feel the hate and pain
No longer drenched in shame
I'm not numbed that anymore

Now I am the key to the door
The kingdom of heaven lies inside
Makes a circle with the turning tide
Now the circle is complete

And the heart and mind they need
The kingdom of heaven lies inside

I love visions of you (endlessly)
I love visions of you (endlessly)

It's a vision for me and for you
Hell can be a circle too
And the truth remains unspoken
A vision for me and for you

I love visions of you (endlessly)
I love visions of you (endlessly)
I love visions of you (endlessly)
I love visions of you (endlessly)
I love visions of you (endlessly)
I love visions of you (endlessly)

I'm not numbed that anymore
No longer feel the hate and pain
No longer drenched in shame
I'm not numbed that anymore
Now I am the key to the door

I love visions of you (endlessly)
I love visions of you (endlessly)
I love visions of you (endlessly)
I love visions of you
I love
Visions of you
I love visions of you (endlessly)
I love
Visions of you
Super song. Thanks a lot RP.
Jah Wobble's bass tone is always recognizable to me.  Within the first few notes I always seem to know it's him.
I always love hearing this! Such visceral, bad-assed bass-work, and with Sinead's incredible soaring vocals, to boot! YES! Styles like Robyn Hitchcock, Kula Shaker.
Thanks RP for one more tune you have turned me on to!

Man, I'm not numbed out anymore...
Skarp wrote: ”I had to register just to talk about the old HFS in Bethesda. My friends and I still talk about it. Weasel is back on the air on 94.7 (I think) but what a station to have around growing up.” Then there was WGTB ou of Georgetown U. They played some RIGHTEOUS music!
Bassist for PIL ?  Nice pedigree
Poor Sinead.. losing her son. A great performace from her here

She may have a screwing life but she sure can sing. Up Fermanagh.

Inspiration of William Blake is also interesting.
I wonder if Kula Shakur had been listening to this before they wrote Govinda?

The Ace of Bass!
Jah Wobble were at a festival I went to a few years back, and naturally they performed this, it being their 'hit'.  I'm not saying that the chorus went on for a bit, but when it started I managed to go for a toilet break, and then bought some liquid refreshment and munchables (bearing in mind the queues involved in each case), and located the other half in the crowd, and they STILL hadn't finished.

Rated at 8 really like. If not for RP would have never heard.

Sinéad let me almost klick the next-track button. What an annoying voice.

I don't know what this is... I have never heard it before.
It sounds pretty good -- not great.
But I'm glad to make its acquaintance.

That's why RadioParadise is so amazing.  I know I'll hear something out of left field if I listen for a little while.

Thanks, Bill.

Nope, I spotted RH as well.
Whoa, look at that photo of him on the WIki page, –slappin' da bass mon!
Not sure if the "Endlessly" is subliminally meant to sound like LSD.
I thought this was Robyn Hitchcock at first...
Wow
Without the Sinaid riff, Material / Bill Laswell did all this some time ago.  That said, works like crazy with her voice.  Love it.
VERY NICE!
Bought this cassette in Istanbul in 1992 and wandered much with my Walkman.
Good soundtrack for a very trippy city.
Always dug Jah Wobble. It's a band led by PiL's former bassist. There's a hybrib feel to his grooves. A musician who has clearly traveled across Africa and the Middle East.
endlessly... very apt! it's so boring!

groovy
It's gotten even better since the last time I've heard it.... 8... the big fat kind!

yes you are correct, it is her — me too,  an 8 for sure {#Dancingbanana}

I moved here in '91 from NYC.  LOVED HFS.  They did a good job programming.

Does anyone remember WLIR (aka WDRE) in NYC?  There was a comparable station in Central/Southern NJ, can't remember the call letters but they were high on the dial.

An oldie but a goodie.  I have this on a cd "single."

9 -> 10 'cause it's such a cool tune.
Sinead adds the perfect compliment to this song.

One of my favourites.  Soooo good for the ears.

Billy Bragg meets Eurythmics meets Sinead (oh whoops, that is Sinead!)

Quite nice song, but vocals far too repetitive
So I plop down at my desk and pull up RP to hear the tail end of Talk talk nad the segue into this magical tune.  Thanks, Bill.  8:15 and you got me smiling at my desk!
Killer bass line.  Very cool. Sinead is even tolerable, too.

Yes indeed.

It's an interesting album by a former member of PiL.
Sinead O' Connor?
really grooving to him lately and his years with early PIL (first two records).

Jah Baby!
Another great British musician doing his own thing, great to hear him on this station.

I used to have this on cassette waaaayyy back when.....great to hear it on RP!

Love her voice, and have enjoyed all her collaborations so far.

That got me thinking.  Wardle's a competent bassist, so I always assumed he played his own bass lines.  However, a couple of minutes research has revealed to me that he and Laswell have worked together; John has contributed bass work to Laswell, and vice versa.

If anyone has the credits for this recording, I'd be interested to know who actually played in this tune.

Yeah miss WHFS, Still think Bill G is Bob in disguise, they sound very much alike.
I like this track, but it seems so clunky after Talk Talk...
Good song though a little long.
love the Wobbleyness

Agreed. Sorta forgot about this song and always thought it was Love & Rockets or Ash with Sinead O'Connor.
Definitely something I'd like to hear often.

Evidently Brewgoat, you and me are the WHFS fans here. "102.3 in Bethesda". I googled Cerphe and Weasel and of course WHFS .. what a difficult time the old girl has had over the years. I remember hearing Damian the day he returned to the air .. almost unintelligible ... there I was bawling like a baby. I returned from overseas sometime after the change to Hispanic music (or maybe it was all-news?) and the freq change to below 102 .... I don't think I listened to the radio for a week. Now for the heartbreaker ... Once Upon A Time I had a set of ten Ten Inch reels of continuous on-air recording that we did in our lab in the Pentagon. Covered a whole week at 7-1/2 ips would have been about 1972 or 73. Lost in a move from Germany back to the US in 1985. Oh well .... You're not the only ones - I was a huge HFS fan. It was the only radio station in the tri-state area. After it went Latino I turned permanently to NPR. Thank god for RP.
great bassline.

flashback for sure. Takes me back to my first 'internet radio' experience. Blasting Adam Curry's "rave radio" across a convention floor in the early 90's. Other song I recall is Utah Saints, "Something Good is Going to Happen". :)

And I second, or third, that emotion! It was such a great station; the DC area has been a desert for good radio since it went off the air years ago.
