Lost in cheap delirium
Searching the neon lights
I move carefully
Sink in the city aquarium
Sing in the key of night
As they're watching me

Take me somewhere we can be alone
Make me somewhere I can call a home
'Cause lately I've been losing on my own

Wrapped in silent elegance
Beautifully broken down
As illusions burst
Too late to learn from experience
Too late to wonder how
To finish first

Take me somewhere we can be alone
Make me somewhere I can call a home
'Cause lately I've been losing on my own

Take me somewhere we can be alone
Make me somewhere I can call a home
Won't you take me home?

Won't you take me home?

Lately I've been losing on my own
Won't you take me home?

This song still stops me in my tracks.
Simply brilliant.

that's awesome! what else do you recommend by her, please? love her voice here.
solid 8 at first listen. At first, on the periphery of my consciousness, I thought: wait, is this a Joni Mitchell song I’ve never heard?  Turned up the volume, and realized it wasn’t - but definitely has the vibe. Lovin’ it!
I second (and third) the request for more TINA DICO. She is amazing.

I think that this is actually classified as "downtempo" as opposed to "acid jazz." Not that it makes any difference to your appreciation...
Check out the vocalist, Tina Dico, covering John Lennon's "Working Class Hero." Awesome performance. Been known to bring me to tears...

Tina Dico - Working class hero
Tina Dico…not only smoking, but a simply gorgeous voice.

This is why I absolutely don't listen to any AM/FM radio in the US. There's no way good music like this would ever get exposure these days. Even looking at YouTube's front page they're trying to do exactly the same thing and want to push garbage out to the masses. Maybe Sirius XM plays bands like Zero 7, but way back in the day (2009) I canceled them because the channels were playing the same crap all the time with no variety, exactly the same problem with FM.  80s channel?  Billy Jean and Take On Me every few hours.  Come on.  Thank god for the Internet and indy stations like RP.

Thnx for sharing! Went there, watched, mouth agape, then proceeded to search on utube music....not only a SUPERIOR voice, she produces! For some pretty well known names, besides doing her own music! Thank God for RP AND Mrs. Dico! Whatta gem!

Why....why oh why did you do this?!!? I totally agree....it was awesome to not just hear her live.... It was also like looking at cotton candy....soft and sweet....but, can't have!! By the wiki post, I don't see her as a band member but, sure hope the boys recruited her! WOWSERS!! Yum! And, btw....if one goes to utube music and search for tina dico, there are loads of her music! I need to come out from under my rock more often! Had never heard of this awesome talent until RP brought zero7 to us! Highly suggest search, if you really want to hear more of her beautiful voice! Not just a voice, to be sure! Thanks B & R!! Long live RP!!

Just sat down as this track came on - NICE!!!
Still fab.
It really is. Readers of this fine forum should definitely listen to it in it's entirety.  You'll be glad you did.  Zero 7 is one of many fantastic finds that would not have happened if we hadn't discovered RP.

Bumping up my rating to 8.  7 was just too low.
This was in what is considered heavy rotation on RP (yes, I'm being relative) back in late 2005-early 2006, just when I needed it the most. It was lovely to hear it again tonight. Thanks, Bill. <3
Good gosh! Listening to her voice....goosebumps!!  Whole piece is really nice but, that voice!!! WOW!! I'd give many of my "9's" a 10 but, and I've emailed Bill about this, there is NOTHING, even remotely"God like" on this planet. Many excellent artists out there, that we listeners have the distinct pleasure of getting to experience, only thru RP. Long live RP!!
Thnx Bill & Co.!! 😁
This a great album.

This one is not sung by Sia, it's Tina Dicow
This song evokes total PASSION! Love it! The entire CD is awesome.

Someone brought it up earlier but I believe it's Tina Dico singing on this number.

I saw Zero 7 twice in those days and have followed Tina's career with interest seeing her also three times in the UK.  Lots of videos on YouTube.  She just gets better and better.

Such a shame Zero 7 changed their music so much.  In those days with the four different singers they really were exceptional.
Top tune. During the intro I was half-expecting to hear "Rock-on gold dust woman. Take your silver spoon and dig your grave."
oh, this is so calm...thanks, RP. :)
I first heard Zero 7 when my friend managed them. He gave me a couple of sampler EPs back in 2005, and I've been hooked ever since.

Great tune.
I think Alt-J used this for one of their pieces, but I can't place which one.  Definitely hear it though.

OK, no work getting done for a few minutes.
How did I only have this rated a 7? Bumped to 9.  Love her voice, style.

I have no words other than lush, sensual and "10".

TINA DICO! Rarely has breathy chill been done so well... Tasty and HOT and everything all the way down to mellow and this is superb!

Big, big fan of this song and the whole album.
I LOVE THIS SONG!!!  Now this is music!!
When I was working I was dependent on this album - took it everywhere. Now I'm semi-retired, I don't need to carry it around any more but it has to be somewhere close
Beautiful song, gorgeous voice

Joni Mitchell wrote the song (i.e. "Woodstock"), so her version is not a cover.
I just learned that the trumpet on this song is played by (and the brass arranged by) none other than Gerard Presencer.
For most people I know, he'd be most easily remembered as the one who played the amazing trumpet solo (at age 18!) on US3's Cantaloop (Flip Fantasia) -- although he's done much, much more than that :)

Easily one of the most perfect songs ever.  The arrangement, the sounds...the ethereal mindscape it conjures up...and THE VOICE...
—YEAH!
Reminds me of the woman I expect to meet any day now.
Reminds me of Vanessa Daou a bit too...

I hear a bit of Karen Carpenter in there somewhere....
Interesting (to me) that I've never rated this song. Because at one time I imagine it would have been an 8, certainly a 7 for years. But I'm tired of it. 4.
I think I rather love this song...I know not why.
The song would have been fine except for the last 5 seconds of tinnitus-replicating whine!
GET IT OUT OF MY MIND!!!!!!!!!!!{#Fire}

There are some parts which have that "English folk" sound, which Renaissance often did, and some of the high notes of the melody do remind me of Annie Haslam's style but the overall tempo seems very different form their stuff.  Nice tune.

No, I can see where you are getting that.  Those movies had a certain dramatic use of heavy brass horns and a frequently chaotic drumming underneath it.

I loved those movies growing up.  I watched one of them recently and was blown away.  Movies like that don't get made anymore.  It isn't so much that it was a fantastic movie (it wasn't) or the great acting (it's was really kinda mediocre), but the atmosphere and pacing of the movie built the suspense in ways that modern movies would never try to do.  It would be too slow paced for today's audience.

In some ways, this music is the same way.  If Zero 7 was a new act and put out music like this, they would have been regulated to a small niche.

In may ways, I feel bad for the text message, gotta-have-the-payoff-now generation.   Of course, I'm on the earliest edge of that generation at 33.
in two days, up from a 8 to a 9. i love this band all of the sudden.
This has a Joni Mitchell quality to it
love this.

this song still makes my hairs stand on end!
This is the song that made it clear to me that Zero 7 was one of the bands I will be listening to for a long, long time.
For the rest of my post... Zero 7 geek alert...

When the sophomore album has tracks like this... slightly more mature than the first but still true to what was great on that first album.  On the first album they would have let Sia blow it out during the crescendo.  I love Tina but the wall of electronics along with the organic acoustic stuff during the crescendo is perfect.  Nobody's been able to match Zero 7's ability to make all those knobs and dials sound so organic.
Wow, good set, Bill!

I've always loved this song, ever since the first time I heard it. Those vocals, that spooky, minor-key shift - I can imagine a moonlit night with the fog swirling around and figures dressed in black like wraiths...
I don't know why, but this song makes me feel like I'm underwater.
It's so peaceful here, away from all the stressing things up there...
And she's here.

love this song, album, and band.  saw them live.  half of the show was incredible, the other half was "experimental electronic improv" and was, well....not incredible...will just leave it at that.  definitely worth seeing though.

Great track, really catches my ear! Is that a Led Zep sample or just sound similar?

I wish this track had been around when I was still friends with Dr. Tim....
I know this is stupid but why does this sound so familiar....did Airplane have a version (back around the time of Tripod)??
There's also an acoustic version of this song that's very good.  I love Tina Dico's voice - she does a song called "Warm Sand" that gives me chills...{#Sunny}

Edited: "Warm Sand" was rejected. Hmmm...

Like this song!!

Go over to one of her tunes here and hit the "request this song" link, and send Bill an email.  Maybe he'll toss them back in rotation.  Three years does seem a bit much of a rest considering some of the hackneyed stale classic rock stuff that gets played.

I really like the way it builds. Would have sounded great back in the day on the X, late at night with the cans on and liitle light show going on inside my head. Not that it doesn't sound that way right now.

("Excuse me, boss... I gotta take a little trip for a few moments here...")

They just do it for me.  'Nuf sed.

They are being hired by artists to remove unauthorized links to their music. There's in article in the latest Rolling Stone about them.
