Running just as fast as you can,
You jump ship way quick but maybe it's Thicker Than Water,
I've got some good news for you my friend,
Man is faster,
You jump ship way quick but maybe its Thicker Than Water,
One day you wake up and realize just what you're after.

Probably already been said, lovely track and definite Nick Drake feels on this
A voice like Nick Drake meets Cat Stevens.

What's the name of that sparkly instrument? I've heard it in other songs and don't know what makes that sound.
Also can be heard at 1:37 and 1:58 in Curtains by Peter Gabriel.

We love you, Mr Hannigan.
6.8?! This is fabulous, the only complaint is that it is too short!
Great Nick Drake'ish song. I hope he doesn't mind being called Nick Drake'ish.
Too short!
At first I thought I heard Alan Rickman singing. Maybe it's the bad Triple Sec. Very distinctive voice. Nice.
Reminds me of Joe Pisapia
The actual Lyrics:
Running just as fast as you can,
You jump ship way quick but maybe it's Thicker Than Water,
I've got some good news for you my friend,
Man is faster,
You jump ship way quick but maybe its Thicker Than Water,
One day you wake up and realize just what you're after.
"Hannigan makes no attempt to hide from the comparisons to Drake and other artists like Cat Stevens or Elliott Smith, citing each as an influence. He says he's particularly inspired by Drake's "experimentation with tunings and melody.""

Never heard this. Like it a lot. Very Nick-ish, but not like Alexei Murdoch, who seems a bit slavish in his imitation...

Interesting. According to his bio on his website, he's also a producer for these surf films. I checked his "discography" and it's almost all DVDs and soundtracks.
Wow, that started out sounding like an Arcade Fire song. Haunting, chilling, I like.

Love it!! I too had to look to see if this was a recently uncovered Nick Drake treasure.
Man, was I surprised to see it was from a surf movie - leave it to Jack Johnson to pick an aetherial tune to go with a surf film - that genre tends to have a lot of loud speed metal - I watch many of mine with something else for sound.
So, one more gets added to my buy list - and maybe a film. . .THANKS Bill!
