That was some hurricane
Rode in on the back of a heart attack
Made a mistake...on a fire escape
In San Fransisco
Worked my way back...in a hallway
In LA

Put on your black dress
Float on your back
Too Long, Too Late
Now I'm gone

Somewhere to sleep
Somewhere to sleep
Somewhere to scrape your body off my feet

Put on your black dress
Float on your back
Too Long, Too late
Now I'm gone

White bellied up in the sun
...bellied up in the sun

Still diving...for the big one

Put on your black dress
Float on your back
Put on your black dress
(white bellied up in the sun)
Float on your back
(bellied up in the sun)

Too long, too late
Now I'm gone

White Bellied up in the sun
.....bellied up in the sun
White Bellied up in the sun
...bellied up in the sun

Whole name or just parts?  Because if that includes parts, "The The" is totally screwed.

Who?
This song is just awesome and you guys are on about its name?! Whatever floats on your back... I mean your boat, I suppose.

You object to verbing nouns?

I saw what you did there...

White Belly.....by Belly next up. .....jelly and then pork
I posted eleven years ago (!) that this is from one of my all-time favourite albums.
Nothing has changed, it still stands the test of time.

Sometime after '' I am he as you are he''' I'll write, when size matters we'd call sun the easter egg , and our plans will shine as bright as sun

Or Big Country?

Bad Company, Black Sabbath, Green Day, Ice House, Kool & The Gang...  It's a good thing it's a new rule.
Ah, I'm straight back in my college room in my first undergrad year, confused, hopeful and listening to belly :) 91 was it?

Still a favorite album, all these many, many years later . . .
Bought this disk when it was released after reading a review in the UCONN paper.   Didn't lie either.
My favourite Belly song. Thanks so much for this.
I like Tanya Donelly's Whiskey Tango and now this. Good listening.
Heard that Belly was nice, before... Never really heard the music before... This is very good though...

Oh Tanya Donelly...how I lusted for thee in the 1990s.  Nice to hear your work again here on RP...{#Heartkiss}

Oh, Tanya Donelly, how I wanted to be thee in the 1990s.
Love Belly.  Espescially love Star.  How great is Tanya Donelly.  How great throwing muses to bring to the fore both Tanya and Kristen Hersh.
You know, the music here is better than any i-pod...so many surprises.. Many Thanks to RP

Memories flooding my head: Summer days riding bicycles in the country with my best friend, eating mullberries from trees, swinging at local parks, wading in streams, and the smell of cornfields as we raced by.

Best summer ever.
Riding my bike from the ghost town of Bodie, CA to Mono Lake. This song was right in the mix at the time.

Ah, my Belly fix. Love it. They also did an incredible job covering Hendrix's "Are You Experienced" . Go Tanya !!!

Ditto! I love Star beginning to end! Such an original sound. Too bad Belly didn't last very long - it's my favorite Tanya Donnelly incarnation.

speaking for all folks in the northern hemisphere, the lyric "white belly up in the sun" really hits home hard this time of year.
