Owww!

Well you must be a girl with shoes like that
She said, "You know me well"
I'll see you and Little Steven and Joanna
'Round the back of my hotel, oh yeah

Someone said you was askin' after me
But I know you best as a blagger
I said "Tell me your name, is it Sweet?"
She said, "My boy, it's Dagger" Oh yeah

I was good, she was hot, stealin' everythin' she got
I was bold, she was over the worst of it
Gave me gear, thank you dear, bring your sister over here
Let her dance with me just for the hell of it

Well you must be a boy with bones like that
She said "You got me wrong"
I would've sold them to you if I could've just have kept
The last of my clothes on, oh yeah

Call me up, take me down with you when you go
I could be your regular belle
And I should dance for little Steven and Joanna
'Round the back of my hotel, oh yeah

I was good, she was hot, stealin' everythin' she got
I was bold, she was over the worst of it
Gave me gear, thank you dear, bring your sister over here
Let her dance with me just for the hell of it

Chelsea, Chelsea, I believe
That when your dancin' slowly, suckin' your sleeve
The boys get lonely after you leave
It's one for the Dagger and another for the one you believe

Chelsea, I believe
That when your dancin' slowly, suckin' your sleeve
The boys get lonely after you leave
It's one for the Dagger another for the one you believe

One you believe
Oh, no, no, no, no
One you believe

Really annoying!
Hmm a 6 but that is for the cover only !

I had to spend a few minutes googling before I could work out what on earth the other commenters were wittering on about.

As an English person, who doesn't drink beer (and certainly not american style beers) with essentially no interest in sport, this song is a reference to enjoying dancing to it on dancefloors, and it seems quite bizzare that it is now a sports anthem in the US!

I think this is a great, sly song, replete with asides about gender roles and expectations, and drug references ("gear" is usually taken to mean marijuana).

Some sources also suggest that the term "chelsea dagger" has been adopted to mean the blade formed when a bottle is smashed against a hard edge.

All in all a great name for a burlesque dancer, and a puzzling choice of sporting anthem.
Missing hawks playoff hockey!

nice album cover.
Well, this is cool.  Kinda like The Sweet with out the falseto.
Song is a 6-7, but allowing it in that crappy beer commercial -> 1.

they are below the playoff line at the moment. so yeah, this song annoys me ever since they started scoring, and their games were on tv.

I respected Chicagoland folk until I heard that they adopted this as a theme song.  {#Puke}
Suck it, Hawks, you going no where this year. Hope you all enjoyed it while you can.
old boy toews should really put his foot down and end this nonsense
Hawks win, but Niemi is already gone! Without him, no win, imho.

So glad, we won't be hearing this too long into the playoffs this year.
GO HAWKS!!!

Oh man! It's not like I wasn't already sick of this song from the Amstell commercial, then I had to hear it over and over and over and over and over...

But I am super happy for the Hawks, who seem like the coolest bunch of guys evah!

Good pick by Amstel.  Never seen the ad, but the song certainly makes me wish I was lifting a pint!

Sounds like Manson (again)

I would be very happy if they put every record of this song into one of those pellets they use to fire up the national ignition facility.

I actually don't mind this song, however I cannot believe that this kind of song made it onto RP over some of the stuff I've had rejected.

If Elvis is King, the Fratellis must be his Knights.

I'm signing up to be a page or roadie or whatever they need.
Do do do do da da do do do di do.
Don't know if there's a connection but I find this music just as annoying as Elvis Costello.

"Last Played: Never", yet I have already rated this and I'm pretty certain it was played last week. Seems like some part of the website needs repair...

8.

Rest of the album hovers around a 6.
Cool Rocky stuff.. pretty similar to Marylin Manson's New model( N°15) from mechanical animals album
The Chicago Blackhawks have destroyed this song for me.

Not that I would've rated it more than a 5 to begin with.

Have you seen any of their videos?  I saw one the other day that looked like an explosion in a burlesque factory - all these gorgeous women running around in frilly knickers and corsets.   Bloody marvellous.
(edited after reading further down the comments page) - I see others here have seen the same video.   rrrrowwwwrrrrrrr :D

This is currently my three year old son's favorite song. Everytime the Amstel Light ad comes on, he sings the chorus!

what does Costello music refer to?
This is pretty bad.
I hate this song. In short, it inspires the worst kind of anger.
Okay now, this is just fun.  {#Dancingbanana_2}{#Dancingbanana}
Something about this song makes me want to kick in the teeth of every member of this band.
BMO's support of the TFC has killed this song for me.

Those who understand this post know what I mean.

Pretty much awful.  I thought I was hearing it for the first time and logged on to rate it "2," only to find that I already gave it a "2" at some point.

So not only awful... forgettable.
Woo hoooooo! Love this song, love this CD. FUN!!!

Yeah, but sometimes I forget I have on my iPod riding my motorcycle. I just look plain stupid then.

"Dam good city" "Dam good tradition" "Brewed in Amsterdam" "One dam good beer"
Great song, but it's hard to separate this one from all the commercial airplay. It'd be nice to hear any of the other awesome unknowns on this album!
Rock and Roll... So nice to know it exists, even if it's on the other side of a giant ocean.

Bingo. Add Arctic Monkeys and you have a trend. The fun part is that the music is pretty darned good. A propos of another post, my daughter (14) was floored that I'd bought this. She immediately borrowed it, and I haven't seen it since.

Elivis Costello music ?
Fun, fun, fun.
My Daughter just asked me yesterday if I had heard of this group. I had not so I listened to several of the songs on YouTube and liked them. Here today they show up on RadioParadise. I added this album to my Amazon wish list for the next time I order stuff.
This song is ridiculous.
