Sure is! Incredible for a live album [including the sound quality]
this is a supurb album.

Gibberish - a harsh sounding description - to those who don't speak it or know that it's more than a put down from people who think it's akin to "Nonsense". Gibberish is actually really soul freeing, transcends the lens of language, where the "mouth-sounds" give form to an artists frequency. Gibberish is Universal Spirit Speak. (That's how I feel when speaking or singing in it anyway.) Give it a go, it might take you deeper. :)

Awesome - thanks for sharing - great pics!

100% true - this is one of my staple tracks for demoing audio

One of my fave DCD tracks. I love how Brendan Perry makes the opening lyrics of the made-up words sound utterly convincing.  Most listeners probably simply assume he's singing in another language (which technically he is, just one he made up).

so one of the genres to describe DCD is "neoclassical dark wave".

Huh. I've never been able to describe them satisfactorily. "An amalgam of medieval/Renaissance music with heavy middle eastern and African influences" is about as much as I can figure out. And  I'm not sure that's even close.

That's actually quite good I'd say!
Meine Alte steht drauf.
Sagt, sie hat nächtelang Dead Can Dance gehört.

One of the best live albums that captures the spirit of a band's music
In the early 90's, I listened to Dead Can Dance. I was in a very romantic mood. After that I bought their first 6 albums. I felt in love with their music.
love it!  I must listen again this album..I had it..years ago..!! still singing?
DCD - amazing to hear them here… they are played infrequently
This song just struck a chord deep inside of me... wow!

Great story! Curious to hear more about your experience of Brendan - what was his "vibe?"  BTW, song is at least a 9 in my book. DCD is transcendant!

Yes, most of the stuff that sounds like a foreign language is made up. They've said so in several interviews.
Shame on me for judging a book by its cover. Would never listen to this just for the name. What a fool. These folks are outstanding! Thank you RP for expanding my musical horizons.
both of them have the most awesome voices..  I could listen to this all day.
Such a great song, band and album.
I love this guy's voice.

Lovely- which is why the neighborhood gets to hear it
Wow... DCD and TMC within an hour of each other this morning. Sublime.

A work colleague introduced me to the 4AD catalog many years ago, and whenever I hear something from one of these groups I think fondly of him.

A nice coincidence. I was listening to this CD on the drive home last night.

After missing this show in Toronto due to a misunderstanding concerning show times, the band took pity on us and put me and my friends on the guest list for Boston, and we decided to make the trip, just for the hell of it. After the show we ended up hanging out and having beers with Brendan and some French lighting guy at the Cheers Pub in Boston. Good times.

Great concert too, of course. I recall Lisa fainting in the middle of a song. Later that night Brendan told us: "I haven't seen her eat yet on this tour."

How long ago it all seems, yet like yesterday.

They get fairly close to perfect, in my opinion, and that isn't a word I throw around.

I bought this album last month after hearing this song. Absolute stunner beginning to end. Listen to it every week.
Without  a doubt one of my favorite songs. Seeing this performed live was a moment I won't forget.

Don't forget about Eric B.!

P.S. This is an amazing song.

If I have to stop what I'm doing to pay attention, it's an instant 7. Very interesting.
Got my fix of neo-classical dark wave.

It's this show you didn't see that you will remember as a wonderful feature of 2020.

Great track with some striking similarities to  Kula Shaker's cover of Govinda (another great track). I've never heard of this band, thanks Bill.
Oh YES - everyone settle in!
Love this band. Check out live dvd.

My ears think this should be played more often.  I need to get hold of this album for sure.
Wow - forgot how much I loved Dead Can Dance!  Thanks Bill...

{ I think I have some strange looking old discs that contain this music --- now to find something to play them on.}
I love this song. I just thought to see if there was a video of DCD performing this live. Happy to report, yes. And it blows me away.

According to the video this is them performing this song live in Montreal in 2012.

[edit. I don't think the link is working, though it acts like it will when creating the comment. Easy enough to find yourself, the title of the video was "Dead Can Dance Rakim Live Montreal 2012 HD 1080P"]
TY RP   I came here with PSD    interesting Music  FOR me  7
THANKS PSD BUTTON!  cool music  : )
This tune is hidden gem and doesn't appear to be played very often on RP.  PSD button brought me here today.

...this concert video is stunning on DVD...

I forgot that this was on this CD....Love it! Where is that CD anyway?
Alright, Bill!  That was quick!

Love this song, especially when the groove kicks in.  Thanks!
My daughter just said she knows this song - and yet I've never heard it...

Just thought someone should comment :)
