Greetings from the 'Great Satan', perhaps some day we can sit and share a meal and watch our grandkids play in the park. I'm sure we can discuss how a country's politics have nothing to do with how people feel towards each other.  Peace.

Makes me think of the Parts Unknown episode where Anthony Bourdain shares a table with Israelis and Palestinians to discuss life in that part of the world. Worth a watch. I miss that guy.
A poor mans Giorgio Moroder. A very poor man's.
This sounds like the opening theme to Friday Night Videos! For those of us whose parents wouldn’t spring for cable & MTV, we were relegated to the hour & a half  of music videos (including ads) provided by network tv. Does anyone else remember?

And I keep hearing Giorgio Moroder circa 'I feel love'.
I don't set the lyrics and only listened to a few seconds of this song before pausing it.  By coincidentally, just today I read a headline that the government shut down all services today for two days due to the unprecedented heat wave.

People in the future will read this and shrug, since this will become more common.  They may remember that 2023 marked the beginning of climate change shifting into overdrive.
I miss "American Gods" (the show). This song made me happy because I knew a new episode followed. Now it's just a regular cool song. :D

Is it the music messing with me, or does the non-goddess girl in this look like Debby Harry when you glance quickly?

which one is the non-goddess girl (and what does non-goddess mean)?
if you're talking about the brunette - 2nd girl who touches her hair, then the only similarity i see to debbie is possibly in the eyes due to the makeup.
I keep hearing "Trans.... Europe... Express"

Wonderful people, insane government.

The US might soon fall into in the same category.

Agreed. I believe Moroder, and also mentioned Kraftwerk, were both influenced by Tangerine Dream, sounds like it. In any case, all three were contemporaries working in the German music scene, so likely they influenced each other. Hard to say who was "first".
Didn't Giorgio produced this ?

Her scene in the book is very...absorbing.

Not always, why be subtle if it works, right?
Straight up Giorgio copy…
I think I like this piece mostly because it was paired with a cool opening montage for American Gods, which was a great series (esp. for Gaiman fans, and fans of the book.
Sounds more like The Midnight Express theme than I Feel Love... Still Moroder like though !
I hope Moroder sued
I love everything about this

Yes, Giorgio Moroder made no secret of his emulating the Kraftwerk/Conrad Plank sound when he produced "I Feel Love" with Donna Summer.  Reitzell is clearly paying homage to Moroder and Kraftwerk with this piece.  Having Debby Harry vocalizing on it was a brilliant idea.

I always think of Daft Punk and specially the song "Giorgio by Moroder"...

Recycling/borrowing/stealing from the best ad infinitum apparently!

Still a great song!
Absolutely razor-sharp in its beatmix, and the vocals aren't bad, either...  YEAH, BABY!

Brian Reitzell    or     Ryan Bretzel?

Thanks Proclivities.

Now I better understand a couple of the songs that Steven Wilson released recently.  In particular Eyewitness on the B-sides Collection EP.

Wilson has long cited Donna Summer as an early influence.

Ghost of Giorgio...

Actually, Natural Blues by Moby was a perfect transition.

No wonder I thought this was a long-lost Blondie song!
wow - this following Love, Reign O'er Me by the Who - magnificent!

but today it appeared 17 tracks before this one. I got that same old deja vu feeling all over again! (I just love a triple redundancy)
Perfect for this music! Thank you

The electronic sound reminds me of Donna Summer's
iconic 1977 hit, "I Feel Love" for some reason
Should it not be Debbie?

It would be a great mix with this three songs: Tehran 1979, I Feel Love, DS and I Feel Loved DM!!!!

And S2 is already over! Good grief how the time flies!
This owes more than a passing nod to the Giorgio Moroder played 20 minutes ago; would have made a nice seque. And I'll take it over anything Blondie ever did.
Midnight Express similarity.

I just missed this song, sadly, and haven't seen the film. However, I have read the Neil Gaiman book, twice, and can strongly recommend it. The strangest take on old gods since Terry Pratchett, which quite literally brings them down to Earth and humanises them. Gaiman is an accomplished fantasy writer, with a dark imagination. His book Neverwhere, set in the underground depths of London, is a dark and funny masterpiece, and very original (a hard task in the fantasy genre). He's also got a wicked sense of humour. I look forward to seeing the fillum when it comes around my way.

This is fun and yes it makes me want to play Donna Summer again but it peters out at the end.
Cool song Blondie! Debby Harry is an icon.
The series based on the book (which I loved) is extremely good. For one, the author is involved in the writing and production. Higly recommended. As for the son, meh....
I'll keep the original(s), thanks.  This copy can pop itself straight into the bin.  Playing "I feel love" straight after just reinforces the problem.  My lad loves Garage Band too ...
I feel love. I feel love. I feel love.
