In every movie I watch from the 50s
There's only one thought that swirls
Around my head now
And that's that everyone there on the screen
Yeah, everyone there on the screen
Well, they're all dead now
They're all dead now

And it ain't easy living above
And I can't help but keep falling in love
With bones and ashes
With bones and ashes
And when the color is too bold and bright
I'm daydreaming in black and white
Until it passes
Until it passes

I wanna know the measure
From here to forever
And I wanna feel the pressure
Of God or whatever

Oh, these days it's so hard to relax
You gotta hold a gun to my back
To make me smile
To make me smile
And the only way I seem to cope
Is by trying to hold onto hope
If just for a while
If just for a while

I wanna know the measure
From here to forever
And I wanna feel the pressure
Of God or whatever
Now it seems more than ever
There's no hands on the levers
And I wanna feel the pressure
Of God or whatever

Only rollers keep rolling
While the searchers keep scrolling

I wanna know the measure
From here to forever
And I wanna feel the pressure
Of God or whatever
Now it seems more than ever
There's no hands on the levers
And I wanna feel the pressure
Of God or whatever
Or whatever

I miss the days when BBC2 used to broadcast classic black and white movies on a Sunday afternoon. How come they're not on any of the streaming platforms.?
EVERYTHING Ben Gibbard records is brilliant. Solo, Death Cab and The Postal Service to start. Amazing songwriting talent!
ok, i like this song, but this is the 2nd time it's played today. that can't be right...

I used to have a rule of not liking a band if they had a stupid name, but if these guys keep putting out catchy tunes like this, I might have to break that rule.

I dunno. I'm not quite at the point where I'd add a +1 for a cool band name, but I'm close!

Just heard the song and liked it immediately. I thought this must be DCFC but i don't know the song, saw the year and thought the same... solid 8.
This band is like "Waiting for Godot", when will that death cab ever get here? PLEASE HURRY!

Can't go lower than 8 on this one. Great lyrics!

I found it quit easy to lower, much much lower
had to bump it to an 8. great song, and I want to know the measure from here, to forever!
Heard the intro and thought this was going to be the Snow Patrol "The Lightning Strike" #3.

There are probably a lot of actors who appeared in movies in the 50s that are shocked to learn from DCFC that they are dead.

Maybe he should have gone with 40's but I think somebody mentioned from Here to Eternity as the inspiration so...
Bei Maximo Park geklaut:-)
I feel like i have heard this on RP about 6 times in the last month or two, but i can't find the play history stats on the new website.

Oh well, good song anyways...

Yeah but I always think that too and not only that, I think  they had more interesting lives.

New Order and The Temper Trap
More great Death Cab
I watched 50’s movies in the 50’s
Now I can’t not hear the first lines of this song when I watch one again
Thanks Ben
Who is Anna Wana?
Clearly a reference to From Here to Eternity...interesting starting point...
Heard this yesterday.
I really love DCFC - they are easy to listen to and like their groove/vibe

Don't get too excited all at once!
Pretty cool.  Nice production, especially the guitar sound.
