Her lips are sweet
Her legs are big
Her looks can make you
Dance the jig
Her touch is so soft
Her heart is so warm
What knocks me out
Is your hidden charms

Her voice is so soft
Her love is so true
I think about her
That's all I do
She's weak and wanton
In my arms
What moves me darling
Is your hidden charms

When I hold you
In my arms
Brings out all of your
Hidden Charms

Her kiss is so pure
As the morning dew
A real gone love
Is exciting too
Her eyes that talk
They say "c'mon"
What kills me baby
Is your hidden charms

When I hold you
In my arms
Brings out all of your
Hidden Charms

A DJ hall of fame - that is an idea! But who would make the list? Can we collect here? John Peel and obviously Bill but after that everyone will have their local heros!

Well put. Thanks!

I  do not like Elvis Costello and will skip his  songs---except this one.
I don't normally like Elvis  Costello, but  here his backup band makes up for it.
Mr Costello and Ms Krall are both musical geniuses in their own right. They are also perfectly nice people. I do not always care for every single track, the for both their individual total achievements are spectacular.

MARC RIBOT on guitar here.

They're always after me hidden charms!

Sorry.  No cut from Mr. Costello is EVER a 2.
He puts on a really good show.

Saw him open for Dylan.

 Both were full of " piss and vinegar"!
The Guy is so able to sing so many different styles of music. {#Notworthy}

OK, who is actually playing guitar on this ?

James Burton

I wanna hear "Jump, Jive an' Wail" by the Brian Setzer Orchestra now. {#Bananasplit}

more from this disc, please!

Always loved the bass line here.{#Bananajam}
Jack White has actually broken the first finger on his left hand so many times that he doesn't even use it when playing guitar. And of course Django... nice to see people overcoming all sorts of obstacles to keep us entertained   {#Guitarist}

Not a big Costello fan but him and band really do a great job on this

First time I've heard the original! I believe Colin James covers this- any of my fellow Canucks know?

This isn't the original - this album was Elvis playing tribute to his favourite songs, and this was a blues tune from the 60s' (I think - Willie Dixon?)
And yes, Colin James did it on his first cd - still does it live, too.

Great, now let's hear Howlin' Wolf do it.  https://www.radioparadise.com/content.php?name=songinfo&song_id=35117
I'm not a huge EC fan, but this is NICE!! Go James Burton, my hometown man!

Yup. I grew up listening to Colin singing this, and probably enjoyed it more than I was ever willing to admit in public. It's on his very first CD released in '88.
I was a closet Colin James music lover too. I believe his self-titled disc released in 1988 was the first CD I ever owned. I might even still have it somewhere.
Love Elvis C. Is he playing the guitar on this? --Never mind, I just scrolled down a little farther...

Elvis C. never ceases to amaze me, back in '77 to now; thanks RP for playing a rare classic from a rare classic; man, this station MUST stay! I live in Japan and NEED RP!!

I stand corrected. There is some decent music coming from EC. Certainly, we run the gambit of EC music on this station.
Never pictured Elvis going out on the jump blues/swing tip. Nice to hear.

I like the way EC drags out the last line of the verse: "Brings out all of your... hidden charms". That's an effect not many singers can pull off.
Who is playing the sweet guitar licks?

Same, not bad. Usually I'm desperately grabbing the remote looking for mute. However, Diana Krall and Elvis Costello? C'MON! It still shakes my faith in humanity. Diana sounds, plays, (and looks) hot. Elvis, not so much.
He was on this show Two and Half Men a while back. One of the characters said to him "You know you should really stop with the ballads. PUMP IT UP, now that was a song"

With Kojak Variety he's a crooner, picking forgotten tunes by both minor and major artists (anyone from Screamin' Jay Hawkins to Bob Dylan). Costello and his band (featuring guitarists James Burton and Marc Ribot, drummer Jim Keltner and Attraction Pete Thomas) Kojak Variety does what any good covers album should do — it makes you want to seek out the originals." ... ...

Poor. I do like quite a lot of EC's stuff, but that one is just a weak pastiche. Yawwwn...
Well, it's not Howlin' Wolf - but it's pretty good. I dig Elvis.
Bill, this is one sweet segue!

Are you kidding me? IMHO RP would be much better if it it played less than 200 Elvis Costello songs per day. (Sorry bill, just wish we could get off this EC kick...).
Ah well, since it's not YOUR station I guess you don't have much say now, do ya? I'm just ultra glad that B&R love EC as much as me! Whhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
i dont care what nebody says i heard EC sing this song into the mic on his guitar! and it was unbelieveable
LOVE Elvis! I've never heard this one before. I just missed a chance to see him live a couple weeks ago. He's here in my hometown recording and album and did a couple gigs. Can't believe I missed that! I have seen him on the street, though. Not the same as hearing him play, sadly.

I really need to replace this disc. My friend \"borrowed\" it. Five years ago.
Nice.....very nice.
